Pine Belt, Inc. will be conducting a 2024 Aerial Forestry Herbicide Release and Site Preparation Program for Seven Islands Land Company, Katahdin Forest Management, and Clayton Lake Woodlands Holdings in Maine, beginning on or about August 13 and continuing until about September 20, depending on the weather. The purpose of the program is to prepare sites to plant high value seedlings or release high value seedlings and saplings from weed competition. The following herbicides will be used: AquaMaster (Glyphosate formulations), Arsenal AC (imazapyr), Oust Extra (sulfometuron methyl and metsulfuron methyl), Escort XP (metsulfuuron methyl), and Oust XP (sulfometuron methyl). These herbicides act specifically on plants and have been tested rigorously for adverse affects to humans, wildlife, and the environment. Signs identifying the areas as an herbicide treatment site will mark all treatment sites. Clayton Lake Woodlands Holdings Program will involve application to 21 carefully selected sites in Aroostook and Piscataquis Counties in the towns of T12R11, T11R12, and T10R13. Seven Islands Land Company's 2024 Program will involve application to approximately 61 carefully selected sites in Aroostook, Penobscot, and Piscataquis Counties in the towns of T10R7, T11R7, T8R10, T8R7, T9R7, T8R13, T9R13, T13R15 and T16R12. Katahdin Forest Management's 2024 Program will involve application to 6 carefully selected sites in Penobscot County in the towns of T1R8, Long A Twp, and Medway. All applications will be completed in accordance with an EPA registered product label and in compliance with all regulations of the Maine Board of Pesticides Control, and Maine DEP's General Permit - Discharge of Pesticides.
