At a meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Lincolnville Sewer District held on June 28, 2016, the Trustees authorized the issuance of the District's sewer / wastewater bonds in an amount not in excess of $1,600,000 to finance the following improvements: To acquire certain sewer / sanitary facilities from Lincolnville Beach Sanitary Facility and to upgrade, expand and / or replace most of such acquired facilities, including acquisition of land and construction of a new waste water treatment facility, and other improvements ancillary and related thereto.
A special meeting of the District will be held on July 7, 2016 at 6:00 PM at the LIA (Lincolnville Improvement Association) Building, 33 Beach Road (Rte. 173), Lincolnville, Maine, for the purpose of permitting the collection of testimony from the public concerning the proposed project and bond issue.
All members of the public who desire to be heard on the proposed project and bond issue are invited to attend the special District meeting.
If on or before the 7th day following the date of the special District meeting, a petition signed by at least 5%, but not less than 50, of the registered voters of the District is filed with the District Clerk requesting reference of the vote of the Trustees to referendum, the District Clerk shall call and hold a special election of the voters of the District for the purpose of submitting a question whether to approve the vote of the Trustees to referendum vote.
