NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS Bids are requested for the Broadway Pedestrian Safety Improvements Project MeDOT PROJECT NUMBER STP-2561(700)X The project includes constructing a new 6' wide sidewalk behind the existing granite curbing on a portion of the westerly sideline of Broadway and reconstruction a portion of existing sidewalk on the easterly sideline of Broadway from Husson Avenue to Grandview Avenue in Bangor, and other incidental work, including resetting curb, adding A crosswalk and pedestrian signals at the intersection of Grandview Avenue and Broadway. The Broadway Pedestrian Improvements Project is a Maine Federal Aid Project No. STP 2561(700)X, MeDOT WIN 25617.00, located on Broadway beginning just north of Husson Avenue Road and extending northerly to Grandview Avenue for a total of 0.13 miles. For consideration, the attached bid form sealed in an envelope, distinctly marked "BROADWAY PEDESTRIAN SAFETY IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT" must be received at the Office of the City of Bangor Purchasing Agent by 2:00 PM, Wednesday, July 13, 2022. A prebid meeting will be held on July 6, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at the City of Bangor's Engineering Department, 73 Harlow Street, Bangor, Maine. Bid security in the amount of 5% of the bid price will be required in the form of cash, a certified check or bid bond. This project is subject to the Federal Labor Standards Provisions and Davis-Bacon Wage Rate Determination. All work shall be governed by State of Maine Department of Transportation, "Standard Specification", revision of March 2020, and "Standard Details", revision of March 2020. The right is reserved to reject any and all bids or to waive informalities or defects in bids if it is deemed to be in the best interest of the City of Bangor. Bases of award of Contract is determined by the lowest qualified bidder. The lowest bidder must have successfully completed a Highway, or project specific prequalification for Bangor to be considered for the award of this contract. If plans need to mailed, a additional fee of $40.00 will be charged.
