Please take notice that Mount Hope Cemetery Corp., 1048 State Street, Bangor, Maine 04412, (207) 945-6589 is intending to file an application with the Maine Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) on or about August 21, 2017, pursuant to the provisions of 38 M.R.S.A., Section 480-A to 480-BB et seq. The application is for dredging of approximately 1,500 yards of material from an existing landscape pond within the cemetery and dispose of the material adjacent to the pond. This work will be completed on City of Bangor Tax Map R75, Lot 001; owned and operated by Mount Hope Cemetery Corp. According to Department regulations, interested parties must be publicly notified, written comments invited, and if justified, an opportunity for public hearing given. Weyerhaeuser Company will be conducting the conifer release phase of its 2017 Aerial Forestry Herbicide Project in Maine beginning on, or about, September 1, 2017 and continuing until about September 30, 2017, circumstances permitting. The purpose of the project is to release high-value seedlings and saplings from competing vegetation. The herbicides Arsenal AC, Oust XP and Rodeo will be used. These herbicides act specifically on plants and have been approved for use by the United States Environmental Protection Agency and the Maine Board of Pesticides Control. The 2017 conifer release program will involve application of herbicides to 50 carefully selected sites on about 900 acres of company land in Franklin and Somerset Counties. Applications will take place in the following unorganized townships: Bald Mountain (T2 R3 BKP EKR), Concord (T1 R1 BKP WKR), Kibby (T1 R6 WBKP), Lexington (T2 R1 BKP WKR), Mayfield (T2 R2 BKP EKR), Pierce Pond (T2 R4 BKP WKR), Skinner (T1 R7 WBKP) and Spring Lake (T3 R4 BKP WKR). Weyerhaeuser Company has established human health and environmental safety procedures to ensure the proper use of herbicides and to minimize public exposure. All applications will be completed in accordance with an EPA registered product label and in compliance with all regulations of the Maine Board of Pesticides Control. Weyerhaeuser Company uses herbicides only when necessary and appropriate and in accordance with the Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI®) Standard. The Town of Milford is accepting bids for Snow removal and Sanding contract for the winter of 2017-2018. The Town of Milford will supply the sand, salt, and calcium. The contract is for all Town owned roads which are estimated at 32 Miles. Contract includes Plowing of the Lewis J Libby school and Town office parking and travel areas. Bids must be in writing, in an envelope marked "Snow Plow Bid" on the outside. Bids are to be hand delivered to the Milford Town office at 62 Davenport St, Milford ME 04461 or mailed to Town of Milford PO Box 336 Milford ME 04461by 5:30 September 20, 2017. Experienced Snow Plow contractors will only be considered at this time. The Town has two plow trucks and a sidewalk machine for use with this contract. The Department of Defense, Veterans and Emergency Management is conducting a competitive bid process for the T2 R9 Township Water Crossing and Road Repair Project at the T2 R9 Training Site in T2 R9 Township, Maine. Bids will be opened and read aloud at the Directorate of Facilities Engineering (DFE) Building 8, Camp Keyes, 194 Winthrop Street, Augusta, Maine at 2:00 p.m. on September 21st, 2017. Project consists of the repair of the failed water crossing at Savage Brook at the Maine Army National Guard's main right of way into the T2 R9 Training Site and the road network which connects this right of way leading to and past the water crossing (approximately 1,300 LF.). Water crossing will be a three sided precast box culvert which will be 40 feet in width and comply with "Stream-Smart "standards. Road design will be for a 24 ft. wide gravel road with geotextile fabric and suitable depth of gravel base and sub base, along with storm water and erosion control measures. Work under this contract will be in accordance with plans and specifications created by CES, Inc. dated August 31, 2017. A mandatory pre-bid conference will convene on September 7th at 10:00 am at the Offices of CES, Inc. located at 465 South Main Street, Brewer, Maine. After the initial meeting at CES, Inc., the prebid conference will move to the project site approximately a one hour drive north from CES, Inc. Attendance is required at both phases of the prebid conference.
