Clinical professional counseling services are regularly scheduled 50-minute psychotherapy sessions with a licensed therapist. This change will not affect advocacy, helpline, or any other NextStep services. Advocacy and helpline services offered by trained advocates include reflective listening, safety planning, support with accessing and navigating resources, and referrals. Confidential records for people who have received clinical professional counseling services will be retained by NextStep until July 15, 2029, and then destroyed in accordance with HIPPA regulations. Until this date your records will be kept confidential and stored in a locked file cabinet accessible only by the acting Executive Director of NextStep.
