Please take notice that the United States Coast Guard (USCG) is proposing to conduct the following repairs to the waterfront at the USCG Station Rockland in Rockland, Maine: - Removal and replacement of existing concrete slab on several wharfs; - Excavation of existing fill above mean high water and its replacement with geo-textile and fill; - Replacement of catch basins with oil skimmer-equipped drywells; - Replacement of concrete pile cap and knee wall; - Cleaning and recoating of piles and bracing to above mean low water and minor wharf repairs; and - In-kind replacement or repair of existing floating docks. The USCG is not proposing new construction. On or about December 7, 2016, the USCG submitted to the State its determination that the proposed project will be conducted in a manner consistent to the maximum extent practicable with the enforceable policies of the Maine Coastal Program. Following and in accordance with consultation with the Department Environmental Protection (DEP), the USCG has submitted a PBR application to DEP in support of its consistency determination and will undertake the proposed repairs consistently with all applicable PBR requirements. DEP's review of the USCG's determination, PBR application, and any related information submitted in support of or regarding its determination will constitute the State's consistency review pursuant to Section 307 of the federal Coastal Zone Management Act, 16 U.S.C. §1456. The USCG's submission will be filed for public inspection at the Department of Environmental Protection's office in Augusta, Maine, during normal working hours. If this occurs, you will need to go into the settings menu on your ClearQAM device and perform a new channel scan in order to resume viewing this channel. Maine DOT and Reed & Reed Inc. of Woolwich Maine are replacing the Goodwin Bridge over the West Branch of the Union River. Due to the bridge replacement project, Route 181 over the Goodwin Bridge in Mariaville will be detoured onto a single lane temporary detour bridge beginning January 6, 2017. There will be an 11' width restriction in place through July 15th, 2017. Loads 11' and over should seek an alternate route.
