The Bureau of Parks and Lands, Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry will hold a virtual public meeting on Wednesday, January 27, 2021, 6:00-7:30 p.m. The meeting will be held via Microsoft Teams videoconference. Public comments are invited on the recommendations contained in this management plan, which addresses over 62,000 acres of Public Reserved Lands in the St. John Uplands Region, which includes the Gero Island Unit on Chesuncook Lake; the Telos and Chamberlain Lake Units on Chamberlain, Eagle, and Allagash Lakes; the Round Pond Unit on the Allagash River; and six smaller lots mainly located near the Town of Allagash. Most of these public lands are adjacent to the Allagash Wilderness Waterway (AWW); however, the St. John Uplands Plan does not directly address the AWW. Contact Jim Vogel, Maine Bureau of Parks and Lands, (207) 287-2163, email at jim.vogel@maine.gov, by noon January 27 for a link to join the Teams videoconference or for a phone number to participate in the meeting by phone (without video). The plan is available at: http://www.maine.gov/dacf/stjohn_uplands. Jan. 20, 23, 2021
